About 1,000 people attended the family-fun Water Valley Days 2017 over the weekend.

Co-organizer Heather Agnew said warm and sunny weather on both days was certainly welcome.

"We had a really good time," said Agnew, noting that Terri Coutts was the other organizer this year. "With the hot weather, our dunk tank was very well used, that's for sure."

The 20 volunteers involved were key to the event's success again this year, she said.

Guests came from Water Valley and from across the region, she said.

Events at this year's Water Valley Days included a parade, pancake breakfast, chili cook-off, car show, dunk tank, pie auction, arts and crafts, slo-pitch games, gymkhana, barbecue beef dinner, pony rides, lawn tractor races, fireworks and music. For more, see page 12.
