Motorists are urged to take an alternate route if travelling northbound on Highway 2 near Red Deer Friday afternoon as emergency personnel respond to a serious collision.
Blackfalds RCMP and emergency crews are currently on scene of a serious motor vehicle collision in the northbound lanes of Highway 2 at Gasoline Alley, police said in a news release issued at about 4 p.m. Dec. 1.
"RCMP anticipate remaining on scene for several hours," the release noted.
The province's travel service - 511 Alberta - noted at 3:33 p.m. that drivers should expect significant delays and urged using Highway 2A as an alternate route.
