Board members are being sought for Innisail and District Victim Services.

“Victim services is looking for board members,” said Cpl. A.J. Mand, who added they're seeking “as many members as we can.”

The board meets once a month. Members do things like help raise funds and decide on the direction the local victim services group is going.

“We want people to get involved,” Mand said.

Being a board member for victim services is a way to contribute to the group, which provides services for victims without having to become an advocate.

Mand said victim services provides good services with a “very positive impact on the community.”

“There's a lot of victims out there,” Mand said. “We try to assist as many victims out here as possible.”

Innisfail and District Victim Services provides assistance to victims of crime and other unfortunate events such as bad accidents. They provide crime scene support, phone support and recommendations to the victims.

Their services cover anywhere the Innisfail RCMP work. Communities include Innisfail, Penhold, Spruce View, Pine Lake, Raven and Glennifer Lake.

To express interest in volunteering as a board member, contact Mand at the Innisfail RCMP detachment, 403-227-3342.
