Innisfail's Community Partners member groups came to the table to share good news and fresh programming opportunities during the regular monthly meeting held on Oct.14.
And a Red Deer-based group, Volunteer Central -- formerly Volunteer Red Deer, is coming to Innisfail to provide citizens with more opportunities for volunteering.
Karen Oatway, of Volunteer Central, spoke on the role of her group in assisting non-profit groups to find volunteers for their needs.
“We do not provide a database of volunteers but rather direct inquiries to specific groups. Part of our service is to provide training for volunteer managers, and resources for Central Alberta non-profits,” said Oatway.
Oatway noted the change in the group's name recognizes the role it is playing more often, specifically with helping groups in towns such as Innisfail.
