Innisfail RCMP are trying to find out who and why gunshots were fired at a Penhold residence earlier this month.

Police said a report was made to the Innisfail RCMP detachment shortly after 9 a.m. on May 1 that a resident on Duncan Street discovered bullet holes in his kitchen window and ceiling.

“They were consistent with a firearm discharge,” said Innisfail RCMP Staff Sgt. Chris Matechuk. He added witnesses in the area told RCMP they heard gunshots being fired at around the time the incident was reported. Matechuk said no injuries resulted from the gunshots.

He said last week no suspects had been apprehended in connection to the gunshots.

If anyone has any information about the incident, he or she is asked to contact Innisfail RCMP at 403-227-3342 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

He said the break-in resulted in the theft of tools valued at $5,000.

As of last week, police had no suspects in the case, said Matechuk.

If anyone has information about the break-in, he or she is asked to contact Innisfail RCMP at 403-227-3342 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
