Police looking for arsonist

Police are looking for information from the public after a shed went up in flames on Aug. 25. “It was a shed in the back alley that was set on fire,” said John Syroid, Innisfail's fire chief. He said the damage to the shed is about $1,000.

“It's still standing but there's a gaping hole,” Syroid said. About eight firefighters responded to the call, which was for a residence on 48 Street in Innisfail.

An RCMP press release said public assistance is needed as someone lit the shed on fire. The incident occurred between 9:50 and 10 p.m. on Aug. 25.

Police are asking the community to report any suspicious people or vehicles that were in the 53 Street and 48 Street area around the time of the fire.
