Innisfail RCMP is still investigating a crash on July 9 when a Caroline man nearly drove his vehicle into the Dickson Dam.

Cpl. Don Morrish said the 58-year-old man was driving his 2002 Dodge Durango along Township Road 360 at about 2:30 p.m. and was set to cross the Dickson Dam when his vehicle left the south side of the road.

The vehicle then went through a guard rail and slid half way down the embankment, said Morrish.

He said man was the only occupant of the vehicle. Emergency rescue crews and RCMP were called to the scene and the man, who was not seriously hurt, was taken to Innisfail Hospital.

The RCMP is still probing the case, said Morrish. He said alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
