Local students run well in Red Deer race

Local cross-country runners participated in a meet in Red Deer on Oct. 2, with the Innisfail team bringing home a banner for their efforts. École Innisfail Middle School and Innisfail Jr./Sr.

Local cross-country runners participated in a meet in Red Deer on Oct. 2, with the Innisfail team bringing home a banner for their efforts.

École Innisfail Middle School and Innisfail Jr./Sr. High School brought home the 3J banner in the Chinook's Edge Northern Athletics Association competition.

Highlights from local schools start with Jade Sinnamon from Spruce View taking first, Sidney Lischer from Innisfail taking third and Kassidy McKay from Spruce View coming in fourth in the Grade 6 girls competition.

Faith Gette from Innisfail was first in the Grade 8 girls competition. Karmyn Phillips from Spruce View won silver.

Taylor Phillips from Spruce View was first, Elisabeth Maciborski from Innisfail was second, Dreanna Berridge from Penhold was third with her teammate Roxanne Phillipoff coming in fourth in the Grade 9 girls competition.

In the Grade 6 boys competition, Hayden Jacobs from Innisfail was first, second was Riley McKain from Spruce View and Micah Letwin from Innisfail was third.

Alexander Ramrattan of Innisfail was second and teammate Pacen Vandermeer was third in the Grade 7 boys race.

Spruce View students Conner Sinnamon and Tanner Newsham came in first and second respectively in the Grade 8 boys run. Thomas Layden of Innisfail was fourth.

Josh Gette was second and Nicholas Stauffer was fourth in the Grade 9 boys competition, with both runners hailing from Innisfail.
