Legomainiacs unite!
Bricks4kidz is coming to Innisfail on March 25 to the Innisfail Arena to help kids celebrate all things superhero, as long as they are made from the brightly coloured bricks and kits.
“We are pleased to bring Bricks4kidz back to Innisfail again for our kids,” said Monica Murray, the town's recreation programmer. “They were out here on January 8 for a ‘minecraft' day and again for The Lego Movie. The day is always popular.”
She added they are looking for at least 24 kids aged four and up to register even though St. Marguerite Bourgeoys School will be out for the week.
The day's program will be run by Red Deer's Angela Kosolofsli and will be focused on helping kids explore the world of Lego superheroes, from capes to contraptions designed to protect Innisfail from evil villains.
“I think Lego appeals to everybody,” said Kosolofsli. “Everyone enjoys it. Even kids who are into sports like playing with Lego products. Adults and kids alike participate in our building camps.”
The theme days include all blocks and materials with which kids can build motorized as well as stationary setups, added Kosolofsli.
“We use Lego as a teaching tool as well,” said Murray. “Another day is planned for April 22. We do not know the final theme yet.”
The cost of registration is $55 for the first child in a family, and $45 for any additional siblings. Before and after care will be available. Participants are encouraged to bring a peanut-free bagged lunch.
