Ghosts and goblins and all things scary are getting ready for a nocturnal return at the Innisfail and District Historical Village.

The village's second annual Halloween Festival will run over two evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24 and again on Oct. 25.

Jane Duncalfe, the village's events coordinator, said the cost will be $5 per adult and $3 per child or $15 per family.

She said the village has volunteers working from many different groups in town and all are excited about the upcoming event.

“The village will be transformed into a place you won't recognize. There will be lots of fun,'' said Duncalfe. ‘'We will have the whole village covered with different aspects of fun, scary Halloween things.''

She said there will be activities for every age group, including dancing on the bandstand, outdoor classic movies, pumpkin carving, face painting and Halloween crafts.

As well, said Duncalfe, visitors to the village will have the opportunity to have their fortunes told, hear scary stories, solve crimes, view an experimental lab, meet some witches, and check out the mortuary and graveyard.

“It's a go no matter what the weather. Some things may just have to move inside,” she said. ‘'There's all kinds of stuff happening in every building.''
