Eagles beat Okotoks on the road

The Innisfail Eagles continued their hot play with a 4-1 win on the road Feb. 1 against the Okotoks Drillers. Innisfail goalie Bryce Luker was the star of the game for the Eagles, turning away 49 out of the 50 shots the Drillers fired on him.

The Eagles built up a 2-0 lead after the first period on goals from Dan Shermerhorn and Peter Vandermeer. Innisfail added another one in the second period on an unassisted goal by Kevin Smyth.

Okotoks came back with a marker in the third frame on a goal by Rico Picelliti but the Eagles added one more from Cristopher Neurauter to make it a 4-1 final for Innisfail.

The Eagles close out regular season Chinook Hockey League play this week with two final home games. The first is against the Bentley Generals on Wednesday (Feb. 5) and then again on Friday against the Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs.
