The 27th annual Bowl for Kids fundraiser hosted by Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Innisfail will be held at the Innisfail Bowling Lanes on March 8.

ìThis is our biggest fundraiser of the year,î said Tim Howard, executive director of Big Brothers and Big Sisters. ìEver since the inception of Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Bowl for Kids has raised funds around North America. Last year we raised slightly over $30,000.î

Howard added the support of the Innisfail community is important for Big Brothers and Big Sisters to continue to deliver great public service and grow their programs every year.

ìBowl for Kids offers nine one-hour shifts for each team from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. so we can accommodate almost any schedule,î said Howard. ìEach ëshift' will consist of eight teams of four members bowling at the same time. Team members are encouraged to raise $125 or roughly $500 per team through pledges although this is only a suggested amount.î

Howard said there is enough space for 96 teams and community partners are welcome to register and collect pledges from friends, co-workers and family. As of this writing, more than 40 teams have registered for the fundraiser.

Pledge sheets are available from the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Innisfail office. Interested community members can contact Linda Doering at 403-227-3477 or via email at [email protected].

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Innisfail serves families in Innisfail, Penhold, Bowden, and Spruce View with a wide range of mentoring programs for children of all ages.
