The second year of Faith Fest was a success with over 400 guests between the two shows according to the event's organizer.

Faith Fest is a free gospel music festival that was held at the Big Rack Cow Palace Event Centre on June 15.

Andrea Hawiuk says the number of attendees falls in line with where her expectations were and that the event was received well by those in attendance.

“Oh, they liked it fine. They liked the people we had (perform),” Hawiuk said.

The event ran mostly according to plan except one of the bands, Marty Antonini & Seventh Heaven, pulled out at the last minute.

This wasn’t a big hiccup as the other bands were allowed extra time onto their sets, she said.

“The other people just filled in, they played more and had just a few extra minutes on their time,” Hawiuk said.

Hawiuk is confident that Faith Fest will return again next year but also tells of another show that will happen in late November.

“There will be another show coming to the Alumni Centre on November 28 -- it’s a Christmas show,” said Hawiuk.

Unlike Faith Fest though, the November show might have a cost for entry, but that hasn’t been decided yet, she added.
