Artistic field trip

student artists — Art students from Hugh Sutherland School in Carstairs dropped by the Sundre Pioneer Museum’s World of Wildlife exhibit on March 21 to sketch animals they might otherwise never get a chance to observe up close and personal. “This is an exciting way of marketing our exhibit to those communities or groups that may not be avid hunters — big game or otherwise,” said Jaime Marr, the museum’s executive director. The students also took the opportunity to take a tour of the village and pioneer gallery. “We even had a couple kids sit and play a tune on the old piano — they were a joy to have and I was thrilled to see the museum utilized in this unique and creative way,” said Marr, encouraging any organization or school that might be interested in pursuing a similar field trip to contact the museum.
