DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts are in Rocky Mountain House Friday followed by a home game Saturday against the Medicine Hat Cubs.

“Going into (this) weekend it is going to be important for us to play well. This week, practices will be important and full of energy,” said head coach Dan Visser after splitting two games last weekend, both matches played at the Didsbury Memorial Complex.

The Colts faced off against the Rocky Rams on Nov. 10, getting goals from Cohen Richardson (assist Aidan Saunders), Haiden Parks (assist Saunders), Parks (unassisted), James Bartlett (assist Richardson) and Trenton Hirsche (unassisted). Parks bagged the only goal in the overtime shootout for the 5-4 win.

Colts netminder Jordan McGinnis stopped 32 of 35 shots.

The Colts played the Strathmore Wheatland Kings on Nov. 11, with Richardson getting his 10th, assisted by Saunders and Blake Stoddard. The Colts fell 6-1.

Colts netminder Kyle Allan stopped 35 of 41 shots.

“It’s nice to get a win Friday to end the losing streak,” said Visser. “The boys played hard and wanted this win. But injuries continued to be a problem for us going into Saturday. We did not get the result we were looking for.”

The Colts Heritage Junior B Hockey League 2023-24 season record stands at 5-7-3 for 13 points.
