Mountain View Colts in second place after losses to Sylvan

DIDSBURY - The Mountain View Colts are going into this weekend's games in second place in the north division.

The Colts are in Airdrie tonight for a match against the Techmation Thunder, and at home at the Memorial Complex on Saturday, Oct. 22 against the Rocky Rams.

The team dropped two games against Sylvan Lake last weekend, dropping the local team’s 2022-23 season record to 5-2, which is good for second place in the north division.

The Colts fell 7-2 to the Wranglers on Oct. 14 at the Didsbury Memorial Complex.

The Colts got two goals from Steven Bell, with assists from Hayden Sotheran and Paton Rothenbusch on the first goal and from Rothenbusch and Ryan Bauer on the second.

Colts netminder Chance Griffith stopped 33 of 40 shots.

The Colts travelled to Sylvan Lake for a game at the NexSource Centre on Oct. 15, falling 6-3 to the Wranglers.

The Colts got goals from Trey Stovin (assists Jordan Saunders and Carter Layden), Nate McNeely (unassisted) and Saunders (assist Simon Leischner).

Netminder Griffith stopped 32 of 38 shots.

The Wranglers are now in first place in the north division of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League's north division with 12 points, two points ahead of the Colts, who have one game in hand.
