DIDSBURY - A feature film shooting at various area locations, including in Didsbury this week and over the next three months features world-renowned actors Jude Law and Nicholas Hoult.

The production of The Order will include scenes filmed at Didsbury facilities, including possibly the former Town of Didsbury administration office on 19th Avenue.

“The film is a 1980s true crime thriller (about) the FBI tracking an Aryan Nation tourist group working in Idaho, Denver and Seattle who committed the largest armoured car heist in US history,” said Didsbury's chief administrative officer who recently updated council on the film shoot.

The story is based on a book called The Silent Brotherhood by Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt.

Production film crews will be filming scenes at the former McDonald Insurance building on 19th Avenue between 8:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13.

Traffic control will be used along 19th Avenue during the day, and no parking orders will be in place along 19th Avenue from the corner of 20th Street to 21st Street.

Additionally, the back alley between 20th Street and 21st Street, running from 12th Avenue to 15th Avenue will be closed from approximately 12 noon to 2 p.m. for filming.

Production film crews began filming scenes at the Excalibur Building on 15th Avenue on Monday.

Filming will also take place in Calgary and other area locations, council heard.

Law has starred in movies such as Enemy at the Games and Hoult’s films include Mad Max and the series The Great.
