Dwelling unit permit values hit $3.51 million

DIDSBURY - Sixteen principal dwelling unit permits were issued for projects valued at $3.51 million in town in 2021, up from 14 issued totalling $1.98 million in 2020, according to a document presented to councillors at the recent council meeting.

The 2021 year end statistical development report was prepared by administration, dealing with dwellings, accessory buildings and structures, commercial retail units, and land use applications.

Twenty-four permits were issued for accessory/additions/decks and discretionary uses totalling $1.2 million. Eighteen permits were issued in 2020 totalling $1.5 million.

Eleven permits were issued for garages, up from five in 2020, four for additions, down from nine in 2020, and six for decks, up from two in 2020.

Five permits were issued for demolitions, up from one in 2020. 

Four permits were issued for home occupations, down from five the previous year.

One commercial retail unit permit was issued in 2021 with total construction value of $100,000. In 2020, five permits were issued totalling $2.44 million.

Two subdivision land use applications were approved, down from one the previous year. 

A total of six certificates of compliance were issued in 2021, up from 44 in 2020.

Council accepted the statistical development report as information.
