DIDSBURY - The Didsbury & District Chamber of Commerce has recognized two Businesses of the Year.

The business advocacy organization handed out its 2023 business awards last week, with president Helen Hafke distributing certificates to business owners in lieu of a business conference this year.

“We had an unusual awards season with some categories without nominations and we have a tie for Business of the Year,” said Hafke, who thanked the community-at-large for supporting local businesses again in 2023.

In all, about 90 nominations were received in various categories in 2023, she said.

The Business of the Year awards went to the Cunning Folk Pagan Emporium and Pink Bee Marketing and Consulting.

The Spirit of Didsbury award went to Buy Low Foods' Greg Poirier.

The Business Professional award went to Ashley Edwards at ATB Financial.

The Customer Service award went to Didsbury Pharmasave's JoAnne Drake.

The 2023 chamber executive is Hafke, secretary Marlene Aubrey and directors Courtney Bell, Laurie Hodge, Jesse Davidson and Paul Nichols. The vice-president position is currently vacant.
