CARSTAIRS - There's a new place to meet in Carstairs.

Carstairs agricultural society president Charlie Van Arnam, Carstairs Nature Space Building Donor Brent Trottier and Town of Carstairs Mayor Lance Colby cut the ribbon recently on the new Meeting Place structure in the Carstairs Nature Space.

The structure was made possible by a $50,000 donation from Trottier.

The structure was part of the original design of the Nature Space, located in south Carstairs.

“This space will have picnic tables and benches nearby for all to enjoy time together,” said Jamie Casebeer, president of Carstairs Nature Space.

“After the surrounding landscaping is complete we envision hosting weddings, small concerts, and family gatherings there. Every day people can come and just enjoy nature inside the town of Carstairs.”

Carstairs Nature Space is located on an 19-acre parcel on the east side of 10th Avenue just south of the rodeo grounds. The project is a joint effort between the Town of Carstairs and the Carstairs and District Agricultural Society.
