SUNDRE – An award-winning Canadian musician recently packed the house at the Sundre Arts Development Centre.

The Sundre & District Allied Arts Society presented on Friday, April 21 a sold-out performance by Russell deCarle, who is touring Alberta promoting his third album called Alone In This Crowd. The album is said to offer a blend of southern soul and restrained balladry, with a deliberate dash of jazz, blues and old-country western swing.

Accompanied by Steve Briggs on guitar and Russ Boswell on bass, the former lead vocalist and bassist of Canadian country roots band Prairie Oyster also premiered a few songs from his upcoming fourth album.

Funding from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Sundre’s Greenwood Neighbourhood Place Society, as well as local business sponsors and volunteers help to make the concerts possible.
