Special mention must be given of the excellent articles written by Kristine Jean. When we were in the early planning stages, she was there enthusiastically reporting, and her very heartfelt and positive articles helped set the tone for the welcoming support the family has received from the entire community of Innisfail. This Year of Mercy project was initiated by Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, but all the citizens of Innisfail have as usual displayed their full support and given generous donations of furniture, meals, toys for the children, money and even Easter baskets.
The Kahwate family is so appreciative of these many blessings and refer to you all as angels.
We wish the Welcoming Communities committee as much joy as we have encountered as they prepare for the arrival of their refugee family. I am so proud to say I live in this amazing community of Innisfail. Thank you!
