Re: Kittens die after horrific ride to landfillWe at Tails to Tell Animal Rescue Shelter were saddened and sickened at the article about the kittens found at the Didsbury landfill. Our no-kill shelter was opened in September 2010 in Crossfield and has rescued hundreds of animals, provided thousands of dollars of veterinary care and found loving homes for over 300 since then, all with the efforts of volunteers and donations only. There were options available to the individuals trying to save these poor babies:1. Search on the Internet for nearby rescue shelters. Many individuals have found our shelter this way and come from as far away as Drumheller, Calgary and British Columbia.2. Contact local veterinarian clinics. Many clinics know of our shelter and will take the animals in and contact us. Didsbury Veterinarian Services is our shelter vet and again, they would call us and seven lives could have been saved. For future reference, our website is tailstotell.ca, telephone 403-946-0400, emergency 403-880-1526, or call Didsbury Veterinarian Services at 403-335-3519.This is not a shameless effort to promote our shelter but an effort at educating people in the area that there is a no-kill shelter that can help the many abused creatures that humans do not think twice about tossing in the garbage. To those that treated these creatures like garbage, shame on you.Edna Jackson, Owner, Tails to Tell Animal Rescue Shelter Ltd.Crossfield
