As reported in the May 1 Gazette, the Netook development team presented its independent Fiscal Impact Analysis and an update to its Water and Wastewater Servicing Strategy to MVC Priorities and Planning on April 25 (“Netook projected to line county's bottom line” by Lea Smaldon). We believe both of these reports provide MVC with critical information as it moves forward with its Municipal Development Plan review process. Together, these documents paint a clear picture of the significant opportunity presented by Netook to enable council to fully understand the impact of their decisions regarding the future of the development. To that end, we are pleased to see that MVC has added a new policy to its draft MDP identifying the Highway 2/27 Area Structure Plan east of Olds as a Special Policy Area. Approving this policy and allowing Netook Crossing to move forward would be good financial news for MVC. The information presented in the Netook FIA and Servicing Strategy certainly reaffirms the wisdom of this approach. As a development team, our next step is to present the findings of the FIA and servicing strategy to the residents of MVC at what we are calling a “Night Out On Netook" (dinner is on us). Join us on May 15 at the Olds Golf and Country Club from 6 to 9 p.m. (presentation at 7:15). Experts will be on hand to answer your questions. Seating is limited; therefore your RSVP is greatly appreciated (1-403-692-4542 or [email protected]).We invite you to read the reports (www.netookfuture.ca), come out and ask questions and learn more about how Netook Crossing is positioned to contribute over $17 million to MVC over the next 20 years.Herb Styles and Terry JohnstonNetook Developers and MVC taxpayers
