I was so pleased and touched by the feature article in the Round Up on Dr. Hal Irvine. My family was so fortunate to have him in Sundre in our time of need.
This article took me back to March 2002 when my late husband was in palliative care with colon cancer. He was in severe pain and had bad reactions to all pain medications. Dr. Landsbergen, his doctor at the time, consulted with Dr. Irvine, who was our anesthetist.
He suggested an epidural, which was agreed to, so he did the procedure and it worked. My husband's pain was gone and his mind was clearer. I'm grateful to Dr. Landsbergen and Dr. Irvine for the excellent care they gave him, which gave the family more quality time to spend with him.
