I am totally opposed to Mountain View County forgiving oil companies' back taxes. It's insanity; the resource companies come and rape our resources, pocket the money, blow it on their extravagant lifestyles, or hide it or put it in a tax-free offshore account, then either from bad or intended mismanagement end up in bankruptcy.

Seems odd all five oil companies would end up that way at the same time. It's wrong for our tax money to be used to enable the oil companies’ greed.

It is not any less wrong that Danielle (Smith) proposing to use our tax money to cover the recovery costs for abandoned well sites.

Anyway you look at it, we the taxpayers are getting screwed by both our local and provincial governments to let these oil companies get away scot-free from not being responsible to the Alberta taxpayers.

Are we as taxpayers going to just sit by and be more stool pigeons and not express our need for our rights to be recognized and provided for by a responsible government?

Yes the resource industry is vital to the Alberta economy, however, that doesn't mean it should get a free ride at our expense.
