Re: RCMP need to focus on catching criminals: Mountain View County councillor
In my opinion, councillor Gord Krebs' comments indicated to me he has very limited knowledge of today’s justice system.
I would suggest he look to arrests made by all our police including the RCMP and then, spend a few days in our courts and see the results of there efforts, when the perpetrators go before judges and our courts to see where the real problem is, and then comment and put his efforts there. Especially with the repeat offenders.
Once he does this he needs to put himself in the position of the police. He then may have a different opinion.
Also, educating school children and letting them know the police are there for them and not to be afraid to approach them is something they should learn when young.
