Letter: Additional insight on Sundre’s new memorial park

opinion

I write this letter for clarity and to ensure the community of Sundre understands the Sundre Palliative Care Association’s part in creating the new memorial park.

The association is honoured to be a funding partner for the creation of this park. The funds, which we received from the second annual Wade Konschuh Memorial Golf Tournament, have been given in full, towards the funds needed to create this space.

Grief and bereavement finds us needing to continue to honour our loved ones. One way to do that is to be able to meet in a space to contemplate and preserve the memory of those who have died.

We are happy that this space will become accessible to all, to be enjoyed by all. This park will have walkways, benches as well as trees, and will be a place to gather and reflect. Trees may be purchased for planting in the park in memory of loved ones.

Those who wish to donate a tree or funds towards this park may do so through the Sundre Palliative Care Association.

Association president and Sundre resident
