I'm writing you about the statement made by Olds CAO Norm Mcinnis in this article where he said tickets weren't handed out at 5 a.m., but were if your vehicle was still on the street when the grader came by.

Our vehicle was ticketed at 8 a.m., with graders not showing up until around 11:30 a.m. I called the town explaining all of this but they would not allow me to have the ticket pardoned and I was forced to pay.

I explained when I went in that the signs were not posted until after 4 p.m. the night before they planned to clear the street. (I didn't see any signs. I was at the end of the street at 4 p.m. and did not see the sign up, but the bylaw officer told me apparently there were signs).

The woman working at the front desk of the town literally said nothing to me. She gave me a smug half smile and handed me only a debit receipt.

The day they issued tickets, they arrived and ticketed every vehicle on our street at 8 a.m. My husband and I both walked out and asked what was going on, and they still ticketed my husband, although he promptly moved his truck. I moved my car before they were able to write the ticket, but they definitely were planning to.

I want you to know that I posted this all over social media when it happened and had others share it, so a lot of people know how I feel about that comment.
