Deer might destroy a community garden

I think a community garden is a wonderful idea. However, does the $28,000 allotted for this project include funds to build a six-foot fence?

We have a neighbour who has fed a number of deer all winter from his front doorstep. We, and other neighbours, have asked him kindly to discontinue this practice.

The deer have eaten or ruined hundreds of dollars' worth of trees, shrubs, perennials and vegetable gardens in our area alone.

This neighbour continues to feed the deer although the snow has all but gone. Please dear neighbour – if you have excess good – give it to the food bank.

I would think the new community garden will also experience the same destruction from the deer.
