Bylaw is proof council needs to be changed

Regarding the proposed Community Standards Bylaw and the town's request for feedback on it: My feedback is about the same as I sent in originally. It too was also put in the Olds Albertan as a letter to the editor.

Regarding the proposed Community Standards Bylaw and the town's request for feedback on it:

My feedback is about the same as I sent in originally. It too was also put in the Olds Albertan as a letter to the editor.

I have no issue with what is in the document. It brings all the bylaws together for anyone who has a few hours to read it.

At that time I said it was a poor time for what seems like a make-work project.

When people are worried about their jobs, farms, losing homes and needing the food bank to feed themselves, it was not the right time to talk about public urination or cat and dog etiquette.

Well, nothing has changed since then. In fact the economy is worse in every way: food bank use is higher than ever, taxes are going up and people still have no time to review this.

You (the Community Standards Bylaw team) and council should have much better things to do than spend any time on passing this bylaw.

This again shows that council and the mayor are out of touch with town folk and the issues that they are facing today.

We have managed to clean house at the federal and provincial levels, now it is time at the municipal level.
