Aquaplex's cash flow problem a concern for us all

The Board of Directors for the Sundre & District Aquatic Society recently found it necessary to alert the Town of Sundre council about a cash flow problem that the society faces this year.

The Board of Directors for the Sundre & District Aquatic Society recently found it necessary to alert the Town of Sundre council about a cash flow problem that the society faces this year. This issue is of great concern, resulting from costs related to a maintenance shut down in 2010, labour costs, reduced membership and lower proceeds from fundraising activities in 2010.

The board is taking action to ensure that the facility remains viable in the short-term and sustainable in the long-term. Action is being taken to reduce costs where we can and seek new ways to increase our connection to the community and use by the community.

The long-term success of this facility depends on the value that the community sees in it. Your ideas and input are valued, your time and effort in assisting the society will help ensure that the Sundre Aquaplex is successful now and in the future.

Please consider attending our AGM and offering your input and support.

The annual general meeting of the Sundre & District Aquatic Society will be held at 7:30 p.m. March 29 at the Sundre & District Aquaplex.

The Aquaplex is approaching it tenth anniversary of operations. It is one of the great success stories of our community and could thrive from many years into our future. Your participation is needed to help ensure a positive outcome.
