A moment in Didsbury gives hope for the future

I had just lost my mother to COVID
opinion

On Christmas Eve around noon at Didsbury Buy Low Foods I was checking out with groceries. I only took in my debit card, not my purse.

I failed to realize I had already used my daily level. I had to run to my truck and get another card.

When I returned the clerk was folding up my invoice to hand to me. The couple behind me had paid for my groceries as a pay-it-forward for Christmas.

I began to cry. I had just lost my mother to COVID that she caught from me. I did not see the couple, but they have no idea how they lifted my spirits.

When I told my youngest son, he said, “This is amazing.” Moments like this give me hope for the future.

Whoever you are thank you from the bottom of my heart.
