1932 – 2022

Mrs. Lorna Jean Sinclair (nee Brewster) passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at the age of 89 years. Lorna was born October 6, 1932 in Innisfail, Alberta, to parents James and Jean Brewster of Bowden.

Lorna graduated from the University of Alberta in the spring of 1953, and, later that year, married Donald Sinclair on October 17. Together, they farmed and raised their three boys. After fifty-four years together, Don passed away in 2007. Lorna was an active member of the Bowden United Church and the Order of the Eastern Star; as well as being an ardent volunteer, giving countless hours to the Summit Ladies Aide and the Bowden Thrift Store.

Don and Lorna enjoyed several trips to Hawaii to break away from the Alberta winters. Upon retiring, they became ‘snowbirds’ making the annual winter trek to Yuma, Arizona in their motor home. Lorna was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing several rounds a week, well into her seventies. She was very active in her social community, and loved playing cards with friends, and having tea with the neighbors. Lorna absolutely adored looking after her grandkids, keeping them entertained with baking cookies, gardening, and attending as many of their sporting events as possible.

Lorna will be lovingly remembered by her three sons and their families, Jack (Heather), Dan (Ileana), Glen (Carolynn), her eight grandchildren, Erin (Gerry), Jennifer (Marshall), Ashley (Blair), Robyn (Ashton) Ian, Luke, Clay, Paige and her eight great grandchildren, Emily, Cassidy, Carson, Hank, Grace, Auston, Anistyn and Madison. She will also be sadly missed by her two brothers and her four sisters-in-law, Bob (Iyla) Brewster and Ab (Michele) Brewster, Melva Brewster and Betty Brewster.

Lorna was predeceased by her husband, Don, a sister, Mary (Royal) Nelson and her brothers, Bill Brewster and Jim Brewster.  A Celebration of Lorna’s Life will be held at the Innisfail United Church, 4720 - 48 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
