Herb was born in Olds, AB. And passed away in Olds, AB. After a long time battle with M.S. Herb was predeceased by his wife Helen in 2019.  Survived by his children- daughter Debbie- sons Ron (Liz), Wayne (Sherry), Gary (Jennifer), brother Albert (Stella).  12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren several nieces and nephews.

Herb went to Enerdale School in his first years and later finished his education in Red Deer.  Met his wife Helen in Westlock & married in 1955.  He worked in the Oil & Gas field, moved around Alberta finally settling in Valleyview to homestead, where they lived for 18 years.  Eventually retired to Penticton, B.C. in 1997.  Herb moved back to Olds in 2010 with his wife and daughter.

Herb enjoyed coaching little league baseball & hockey curling & fishing.  The Olds Legion was a popular place for him to go and play shuffle board and socializing with friends.  Loved going for drives in the country to see how the crops were growing and reminisced about who used to live on the farms in the area.

Herb was a quiet man, but if you mentioned politics and government he always had plenty to say.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and will never be forgotten as his memory will continue on forever.  Dad we love you and will miss you always.

Special thanks to Allen & Laura Harper for being there for us and Dad.  Thank you to Olds Hospital & Dr. Dykin.  Innisfail Sunset Manor- Seasons Encore all the staff for their care and kindness shown to our Dad.  Anyone else we missed, thank you.  In lieu of flowers, donations to M.S. Society Olds Hospital.
