Vera Joan Parker went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the age of 63 years.

She was born in Olds, AB to Walter and Erna Neufeld. She grew up on the family farm and continued living and working on the farm until her MS diagnosis would no longer allow her to be without care. Vera loved living on the farm, helping her father and later her husband, Miles by driving the grain truck, combining, and driving meals out to the field.

Vera was primarily a homemaker but also taught piano to many of the neighbouring children and family. She was an accomplished pianist, accompanying choirs, contatas and congregational singing at church for many years. Vera enjoyed travel. Some favourite trips were to Vancouver Island and travelling to Europe 4 times. Once her children were older, she began working as a cook at the Linden Nursing Home, becoming a fast favourite among the staff and residents who loved her cooking and was famous for her cinnamon buns. She loved this job and stated she would have continued in it if ill health had not intervened.

She was a loving wife to her husband and a wonderful, loving mother to her two children; she is deeply missed.

Vera is survived by her husband Miles, her daughter Megan, her son Jordan (Naomi) and her beloved granddaughter Rosalie, her sister Karen (Charles) and their children Matt (Becky), Becky (Duane), Joel (Joanie) and Jared, and her sister Heidi (Lowell) and their children Lukas (Nicole) and Levi (Danielle), her sister in law Rosemary (Maxx) and her children Katherine (Brent) and Robert, sister in law Audrey (David) their children Sarah, Caleb and Jessie (James), brother in law Howard (Amy) and their daughter Shayaunna, sister in law Donna (Allen) and their son Justin (Kayla) and brother in law Wesley (Amanda) and son Maxx, and 3 great nephews and 5 great nieces.

She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Erna Neufeld, and her in-laws William and Katherina Parker.

The family would like to thank Bethany Care in Didsbury for their wonderful care of Vera for the last 4 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Rivers Edge Camp or Canadian Food Grains Bank.
