June 12, 1937 - April 29, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of June Alberta Miller. She passed away at the Didsbury Hospital on April 29, 2023, surrounded by her family at the age of 85 years.

June was born on June 12, 1937, on a farm near Ribstone, Alberta. She was the 4th of 5 children born to Robert (Harry) And Maggie (Myrtle) Morrison. The family moved to Ribstone from the farm shortly after, as her dad had opened a garage business. As a child, June enjoyed sledding, swimming in and skating on Ribstone Creek with her brothers, sisters, and friends. She loved playing sports with her favorite being baseball.

As June grew into a young woman, she met Raymond Miller. They soon married in Ribstone on August 3, 1956, and began a family. They moved to Olds to be closer to Ray’s family in Didsbury. June and Raymond were blessed with 3 children; Douglas, Dennis, and Cathy before they moved to the family farm in 1961. They began farming and continue to grow their family by adding Debbie, Bradley and finally Jodi.

June loved to farm. She raised chickens, turkeys, and peacocks. Her large gardens was always filled with vegetables. She worked tirelessly cooking and cleaning. June worked feeding the farm crew, making home cooked meals, and baking fresh buns and bread along with yummy desserts. June also loved to read and enjoyed playing cards and going to the Casino.

Raymond and June loved to travel and went many places together and with their families. As her family grew and grandchildren and great grandchildren entered her life, she enjoyed spending time with each and everyone of them. She proudly displayed pictures of all of them around her house.

June will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 66 years Raymond; brother Ron(Marge); sister in laws Marlene and Lillian. Her children Doug, Dennis, Cathy (Rick), Debbie, Brad (Sherry) and Jodi (Allan) as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

June is predeceased by her parents; mother in law Carrie; father in law Emil; brother Bob; sisters Dorothy and Helen as well as 2 beloved daughter  in laws Lucy and Susan.

A celebration of life was held on May 4, 2023, at the 5-0 Club in Didsbury. In Lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to Heart2U Didsbury Food Hampers (RR1, Site 14, Box 23, Didsbury, T0M 0W0).
