1939 – 2024

Mr. Kenneth ‘LaVerne’ Fuller passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Innisfail Health Centre on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the age of 84 years.

Floyd and Myrtle welcomed their fourth child LaVerne on June 18, 1939 in Delburne, Alberta, where he was raised alongside his four younger siblings. He met his high school sweetheart, Carol Auvigne in Delburne, Alberta and they were married in 1959. They welcomed their first son, Victor in 1960, second son, Dale in 1961, first daughter, Sherry in 1962, second daughter, Sharleen in 1965, and final daughter, LaVerne Carol in 1970.

LaVerne started his career in seismic working alongside his brothers transitioning into the gravel crushing industry and then spent many years with the County of Red Deer. He then went on his own and purchased a Kenworth truck and moved various amounts of equipment throughout Central Alberta. Laverne’s final career of thirty-seven years was with Border Paving Ltd out of Red Deer, Alberta, where he enjoyed traveling the countryside building roads.

He later found his life companion, Grace Vanderhooft, with whom he spent the last thirty years of his life residing in Innisfail, Alberta. They spent their days baking, camping, visiting with friends and family, and enjoying each other’s companionship with their dog, Sadie.

He is lovingly remembered by his spouse, Grace Vanderhooft, and his five children, Victor (Patty) Fuller, Dale (Denise) Fuller, Sherry (Mark) Stickland, Sharleen (Dwayne) Andersen, and LaVerne (Tom) Anderson, his grandchildren Caidan, Dallas, Camryn, Dustin, Dayla, Daniel, Amanda (Kraig), Michael, Nicole, Alysa, Justice, Ocean and his six great-grandchildren Charity, Paisley, Kolson, Emma, Blakely, and Hadley. He will also be deeply missed by his four stepchildren Cheryl (Kiley) Drobot, Calvin Vanderhooft, Christine (Stuart) Becker, and Andrea Vanderhooft and his six step-grandchildren Mya, Dawson, Braiden, Emma, Jacee and Payton. LaVerne is predeceased by his parents Floyd and Myrtle, his sister Sheila, his brothers, Gary and Arthur ‘Skip’, his brother-in- law, Jim, his sisters-in-law, Lynn and Judy and his nieces, Michelle and Annette.

We will always remember his quick wit, sarcasm, sweet tooth and love for trucks.
