Mr. John Henry Fehr of Innisfail, Alberta passed away at the Innisfail Health Center on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the age of 80 years.

John was born on April 23, 1943, in Gretna, Manitoba to Mary and Cornelieus Fehr. Soon after the family moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In 1955, the family home was lost to a fire and three of Johns brothers were also tragically lost in the fire. Following the fire, the family moved to Mission, British Columbia, with practically nothing.

At the age of nineteen years, John left Mission, British Columbia and returned to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on his own. He began a carpentry apprenticeship and became a journeyman in 1967. John had a successful career as a skilled carpenter and construction superintendent.

He had seven brothers and three sisters. John had two sons, Darryl and Cory and one stepson, Darwin, from his first marriage. He adopted two more children, Brad and Katharina in his second marriage. John was with the love of his life, Mary-Jane from 1972 until her passing in February of 2010. He lived and worked in and around Red Deer from 1976 to 1992 when he moved to the acreage in Innisfail, Alberta. John remained in Innisfail until his passing. He was always involved with the church, most notably, Parkland Community Church and the Church of the Nazarene in Innisfail, Alberta.

John is lovingly remembered by his four sons, Darryl (April) Fehr of Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan, Cory (Heather) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Brad (Kelly) Fehr of Airdrie, Alberta, Darwin (Debbie) Fehr of Martensville, Saskatchewan, his daughter, Katharina of Stettler, Alberta, his fifteen grandchildren and his nine great grandchildren. He will also be deeply missed by his brother, Harry Fehr of Strathmore, Alberta and his sisters, Mary-Anne Pierre of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and Anne Hadvick of Langley, British Columbia.

John was predeceased by his parents, his wife, six brothers and one sister. A Funeral Service was held at the Nazarene Church on Monday, November 13, 2023. For those who were unable to attend the Funeral Service was live streamed on the Innisfail Church of the Nazarene YouTube Channel.
