1942 - 2024

Angie Elliott (nee Friedt) was born in Estevan, September 7, 1942, and died January 18, 2024, in Calgary. She was the second in a family of six brothers and sisters, raised by loving, hardworking parents.

She was born in Estevan and moved with her family to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, when she was 11. She was four when she followed her older brother to Grade 1 – teachers said she’d never stay. She did. After graduating Grade 12 with top marks at 16, Angie boarded a train to Regina, found a job and more importantly, the love of her life, Norman. They married, raised a family, and built a happy life full of love and respect.

In the early 1980s they left their home province when Norm accepted a job in Calgary. They embraced their new home-province and made many life-long friends.

She lost the love of her life Norman in 2019 after 56 years of marriage. Angie lived with her son Murray in Olds for more than five years. She was happy living in Olds, and became part of Murray’s work, volunteer, and social circles. The good folks of Olds went above and beyond to make Angie feel welcome.

She is survived by her son Murray, daughter Lee, grandchildren, and a large extended family. A celebration of life will take place later.
