Shannon Leigh Craig (Jung) of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully in her home on March 31st, 2020 at the age of 30 years following an extended battle with Type 1 Diabetes. 

Shannon was born in Red Deer, Alberta, January 26th, 1990 to parents Wolfgang and Fay Jung living in Sylvan Lake at the time.  In 1991 the family moved to Dorintosh, Saskatchewan where they remained until 2004, moving to Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan until 2007, then on to Saskatoon. 

Shannon graduated from Nutana Collegiate High School in 2010 and later received a certificate in the jewellery industry of which she was very proud of. 

Shannon was later employed with Corner Stone Industrial where she later met and married Kelly Craig in 2017.  Following a brief time in Saskatoon they relocated to Red Deer, happily raising their two children.

A lively outgoing young lady, Shannon was known by her friends and family to be smart, ambitious and ready for anything.  A total social butterfly (as she often defined herself as) she always enjoyed companionship and passed on the most beautiful smile that would light up your soul.  Shannon loved her children to no end and strived to be the very best mother ever. 

Shannon was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 10.  She bravely managed her condition over the years, however developing further complications over the past couple of years and most specifically the past three months, being hospitalized in Red Deer and then Calgary Foothills. 

Shannon is survived by and leaves to mourn her loving husband Kelly Craig, daughter Karlie Neva Adele (age 4), son Dallas Mitchell Thomas (age 3), sister Ashley Jung, mother Fay, father Wolfgang, step-mother Jody Timm all of Saskatoon, wonderful grandmothers Klara Licht and Connie Moncrieff, mother and father in law Marilyn and Brian Craig, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  Grieving also are Shannon’s wonderful friends of Saskatoon and Red Deer reaching out with thoughts prayers and support. 

As per Shannon’s wishes she will be cremated with memorial service(s) to follow later post covid-19 pandemic.
