LINDA

1959 – 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda May Berkley.

Linda passed away suddenly at home on May 26, 2020 at the age of 61. She was born in Olds, Alberta, the youngest of five children, to parents Walter and Margaret Berkley.

Linda moved to Calgary when she was a teenager, graduated from James Fowler High School and spent most of her adult life in Calgary.  As a young adult Linda served in full-time ministry as a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses while also working as a switchboard operator.  She worked for Alberta Government Telephone, The Palliser Hotel, and The Children’s Hospital and most recently at the central Call Center for all Calgary Hospitals. She worked for Alberta Health Services for 30 years.  During this time she made many good friends, trained many operators and loved going to work.

Linda loved to spend time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her great nieces and nephew’s birthday parties. She also loved reading, watching movies, listening to music and camping.

Linda was predeceased by her parents Walter and Margaret Berkley and by her brother John Berkley. She is survived by her brother Bert (Janis) Berkley of Sundre sister Jeanne (Pat) Mosca of Calgary and sister Ann (Ralph) Dueck of Olds, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

We will always lovingly remember Linda as a kind, joyful and thoughtful sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed.

There will be an outdoor service at the Hainstock Cemetery west of Olds on June 25th, 2020 at 10:30.  While respecting social distancing rules, family and friends are invited to attend.
