OHL roundup: Generals clip Colts 3-0, wrap up playoff series in 6 games

BARRIE, Ont. — The visiting Oshawa Generals outshot and outscored the Barrie Colts en route to a 3-0 Ontario Hockey League playoff victory on Sunday at Sadlon Arena.

Luca D'Amato, Luke Torrance and Connor Punnett scored for the Generals, who won the first round, best-of-seven playoff series 4-2.

Generals' netminder Jacob Oster made 32 saves to post the shutout.

The Colts, who were outshot 37-32 in the must-win contest at home, got a 34-save performance from netminder Sam Hillebrandt.

The Generals led 1-0 after the first period and took a 2-0 lead into the third.

Both teams went 0-for-3 on the power play.

The teams split the first two games in Oshawa, then the Generals won two in Barrie to take a commanding 3-1 lead. Barrie stayed alive with a 3-0 road win in Game 5 on Friday.

Jack Dever and Chris Barlas also scored for the 67's, who won the best-of-seven playoff series 4-2.

Zakary Lavoie scored for the Bulldogs, who trailed 2-0 after the first period and 3-0 heading into the third.

The 67's went 1-for-5 on the power play, while the Bulldogs were 1-for-3.

The teams split the first two games in Brantford, then the 67's won the next two games in Ottawa to take a 3-1 series lead. The Bulldogs won Game 5 4-2 on Saturday to extend the series.
