MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY – Mountain View Seniors’ Housing Foundation has elected a new president.

Ralene McCulloch was elected during the foundation’s recent annual general meeting.

The foundation is a registered charity that works with local groups and stakeholders to raise money for furniture and equipment on behalf of Mountain View Seniors' Housing (MVSH).

McCulloch is a county resident and has been involved with the foundation in various roles over the past decade.

“Our foundation has grown and is well positioned for continuing to support seniors in all of Mountain View County,” said McCulloch, who commended past-president Paul Gustafson for his work with the foundation.

The foundation’s annual events include an annual golf tournament and a gala.

Mountain View County reeve Bruce Beattie is the chairman of MVSH, which owns and operates seniors lodges in Olds, Didsbury, Carstairs and Sundre as well as other housing units.

Meanwhile, having had to cancel its Powered by the People Gala because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation has put out a call for donations to support seniors in the lodges and manors in the county.

“Our goal is to always support our seniors, but at this time to make their lives a little easier during this COVID-19 pandemic,” officials said. “By donating today, you could help the foundation purchase interactive technology and equipment to help them in this time of isolation.

“With your support the foundation is able to make Mountain View Seniors’ Housing facilities more supportive and enjoyable for our seniors.”
