Olds became a playground for young volleyball players on the weekend of September 20 and 21 during the Olds College Broncos 2013 Junior High Volleyball Jamboree.

Forty-four teams from across the province, including teams from Ecole Deer Meadow School, Olds High School and Olds Koinonia Christian School, took part in 120 matches over the weekend at Deer Meadow, the Ralph Klein Centre and the Frank Grisdale Hall Gymnasium at Old College.

Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School from Okotoks took first-place honours in the junior girls A and junior boys B divisions and Trinity Christian School from Calgary topped the junior boys A and junior girls B divisions.

The jamboree is a fundraiser for the Olds College athletics program and registration fees from teams brought in nearly $10,000 for the program.
