Teams from Olds, Torrington victors at seniors bonspiel

A trio of curling teams from Olds and a foursome from Torrington came away from the Olds Seniors Curling Bonspiel as champions.

A trio of curling teams from Olds and a foursome from Torrington came away from the Olds Seniors Curling Bonspiel as champions.

The Olds Seniors Curling Club has held the bonspiel for more than 30 years and this year's competition, which ran from January 14 to 17 at the Olds Curling Club, brought out 28 teams from Olds and the surrounding area.

The A event was won by Brian Krall's team from Olds made up of Krall as third, skip Jim Dunlop, lead Gene Leonard and second Dennis Roemmle.

Ken Weseen's team from Olds made up of Ken and Carole Weseen, Carole Johnson and Doreen Wolfe captured the B event and the Torrington-based team of Clarence and Danny Martin, Don Dean and Del Taylor won the C event.

Rounding out the winners was another team from Olds made up of Al and Elaine Graham and Ray and Yvonne Miller that won the D event.
