The team beat all five teams, which included Bonnyville, Leduc, Rimbey, Drayton Valley and Caroline. That gave them a bye to the sem-finals where they beat the home team in two straight games.

The girls went up against Smoky Lake, but lost them to the finals.

The girls play tonight at home against Rocky Mountain House. The JVs start at 6pm, the seniors follow.

JVs start winning streak at Rocky tourney

Innisfail JV girl’s volleyball team had their first win of the year last week, beating Olds High school students last Wednesday.

Over the weekend the team competed in the Rocky Tournament. The girls played three back-to-back games, winning every single one.

They played Stettler Friday night, a team they lost against in their first league game. Here, they won 25-19 and 25-15.

Saturday morning the girls won again, putting them first in their pool and proceeded to win their first playoff game.

They played against HJ Cody and lost 20-25 and 19-25, putting them third in the match. They lost another starter and finished fourth overall.

“They have improved leaps and bounds due to their hard work and determination,” said coach Loraine Uloth.
