OLDS — The École Olds High School JV girls basketball team is undefeated in their league so far, with a 3-0 record.

Their next challenge came Monday, Jan. 29 when they took on Crossfield.

During the Jan. 19 weekend, they placed third in the Rebel Rucky's tournament in Rocky Mountain House.

“The girls worked hard on defence and shooting with games neck and neck. Competition was matched very well,” assistant coach Rochelle Van Eaton wrote in an email.

“Their hard team work and dedication got them through with a placement of third.”

Van Eaton said the players have learned when to slow things down, how to effectively use skip passes, and to be “consistent with movement/cuts.”

Van Eaton said the aim of herself and head coach Kelly Brewster is to ensure the girls continue to practise hard and work as a team.

“Hopefully, that will keep us a strong, undefeated Spartans team until the end of season,” she wrote.
