OLDS — Olds Grizzlys defenceman David Clarke was named the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s (AJHL) Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week for Nov. 7-13. 

The native of Tecumseh, Michigan ranks among the top 10 in AJHL rookie scoring with 16 points (two goals, 14 assists) in 21 games.  

Other players of the week were Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week Nicolas Beaudoin of the Bonnyville Pontiacs and Okotoks Oilers defenceman Nick Wolfenberg, who was announced as the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week. 

Clarke received his honour after racking up five points in two games for the Grizzlys. 

Clarke, born in 2003, obtained two assists in a 5-4 loss to the Calgary Canucks in Olds on Nov. 11.   

He picked up three more assists in a 6-5 win over the Blackfalds Bullodgs on Nov. 12, including an assist on the game-winning goal.
