The Olds Golf Club was named host of two major tournaments this year.
From Aug. 10 to 12, the 2016 Alberta Senior Ladies Championship will be played in Olds. It will also be hosting an ACAC regional tournament for Olds College from Sept. 16 to 18.
In regard to the Senior Ladies Championship, "they were looking for host venues and we've had a great relationship with Alberta Golf for over 25 years," said Wade Bearchell, pro manager.
Bearchell said a number of renovations have been made to the course. Holes 6, 7, 8, 9, and 16 have either received new greens, tee boxes or both.
"It was an opportunity to showcase our golf course on a provincial level."
Bearchell is also pleased to obtain the ACAC tournament.
"We hosted their provincial championships a couple years ago so it's nice to have ACAC back. It's great for them; it's nice to have an event in Central Alberta. It's easy for all the colleges to get to and we're happy to host," he said.
The course opens in early April.
